Objectives of the course

To know the airport operations with their terminology, types of cargo and aircraft and respective assistance procedures and learn how to perform the loading / unloading and cleaning board operations in compliance with the safety and security of the whole handling area

  • Types of aircraft and “narrow bodies” and “wide-bodies” configurations
  • Vehicles and equipment of the ramp area
  • Elements of aerodynamics and aircraft balance
  • Passenger loading and assistance
  • Luggage, freight and mail loading
  • Load plans and anchoring operations
  • Apron operating flows (arrival, transit, departure, cleaning and catering, loading/unloading etc.)
  • Safety of the ramp area and of moving vehicles, according to the regulations in force and local rules
  • Security of the operating areas for people and vehicles
